Project Update #1

Project Update #1: Hexagon Quilt

Remember all of those little squares that I cut up? Well I have made some progress with them.

So far, I have completed 20 flowers (140 hexagons) and basted another 50 hexagons. I have picked out the background fabric but I haven't cut it up yet. I also decided not to put on a 2nd border around the flowers. This is just my personal prference, plus it will take me forever to complete it!

I have carpal tunnel syndrome so doing all of this handwork at one time gets to be painful. Someday I'll have this project completed !

Now I know why they call this quilt Grandmother's Flower Garden because you will be a grandmother by the time you finish it! LOL!!! Luckily I have purchased all of the fabric for the quilt because it will probably be out of print by the time that I am finished with it!

(Do you think that I have enough red in it RED ?)

Well I am off to do some more sewing so that I can finally finish another project!

Until Next Time....Happy Quilting!

Very pretty hexagon quilt. Go ahead and take your time because you don't want to make the carpal tunnel worse.

Hi your hexagon flowers are looking gorgeous, love your colour choices...I understand the pain you feel in your hands with carpal. I'm booked in for surgery for both my hands on 23rd Oct (was meant to be 2nd Oct - though surgeon has postponed) - dreading it in some ways as will be out of action from stitching for awhile - though am SO looking forward to no more numbness, tingling and pain :) Remember take lots of micro rest breaks while your stitching and give those hands a good shake to get the circulation going again. Hugs to you Jx

Your little hexagons are just adorable....hopefully your wrist won't bother you too terribly much so you can work on them steadily/slowly.

I adore the fabric you are using! Is it all from the same collection, or is it marvelous things you put together on your own? I admire your stamina with the hand work!
