My Little Helper

The other day while I was binding my quilt, I got some unexpected help from my Little Person.

After a little bit of practice, my Little Person was able to put on all of the binding clips for me.

Now if I could just teach my Little Person how to sew on the binding, we would be in business! Then I would be able to spend all of my time in front of the sewing machine.

Pinwheel Pirouette

I have just finished my July project for the Charming Girls' Quilt Club. This month I was able to make the complete quilt. The pattern is called Pinwheel Pirouette by Cozy Quilt Designs. The fabrics that I used include Moda's Roman Holiday, American Jane, Winter, and Oak Leaf and Reels.

(Sorry for the terrible photos, but is has been raining ALL day long!)
If you look closely, you can see the yo-yo's that I appliqued to the center of the pinwheels.

I am determined to use up my stash. I have several large pieces of fabric that are just waiting to be used. What better way to use them than on the back of a quilt? If you look closely, you will see that I have even put the label on my quilt!

Here is my completed quilt just waiting to be used. Like I said before, I started this quilt last November and it has been waiting patiently for me to complete it. It was worth the wait!
If the weather is better tomorrow, I will take a picture of the center of the pinwheels with the yo-yo center.
I can't wait to see what the other quilt club members' create! I will be checking on them.
Until Next Time.....Happy Quilting!

Summertime Mini Quilt

Kelly at Cotton Charm Quilts always tucks a "little extra goody" into each order that you place with her. This time she sent me this Petit Four (1 1/2" squares).
Since I didn't have any yardage of Objects of My Desire, I added these from my stash:

and I made this: "My Summertime Mini".

It measures 16" X 12" and it is perfect as a centerpiece for a summer picnic.
Thanks Kelly for the Petit Four! I always love the extra goodies that you send out!

I've Been Tagged!

Ok Charming Girls' Quilt Club members, we have all been tagged! Kelly is giving us an extra entry to this month's drawing for playing along. So here I go:

1. Favorite Fabric: Hmmmm....anything Moda! Right now I am really into the brighter/bolder fabric lines, like Swanky and Swell.

Of course, I will always be a "FIG-nantic", which is why I am in love with Mill House Inn. I am also anxiously awaiting the Simple Abundance fabric line by Camille. French General has also caught my eye. Sweetwater is also moving up on the list of favorites.

But, then again, Wonderland by MoMo calls my name at night!

Do you see the problem? Especially when Kelly has all if them in her shop!

2. Pattern that I am looking forward to sewing: Right now I must finish all of my "unfinished" projects before I can start another one!

3. The food that is my weakness: Does Diet Pepsi count? If not then, I would have to say anything chocolate. However, as I am typing this, chips and salsa is coming to mind!

4. If I knew that I couldn't fail, I'd: probably take over Martha Stewart's job! Think of all of the possibilities (and the great food)!

5. The Best "Life Advice" I know is: "Never Give Up!" , which was recently told to me by my 2 year old (you know, the same one that asked me "What's a COMET?")! The other day, which wasn't my best day, he came into the kitchen and told me "Never Give Up!" ...So you see they are wise beyond their years!

All right Club Members, I'll be looking for your answers!

Until Next Time...Happy Quilting!

Work Weekend

This was a work weekend, one that was filled with lots of "mentally/emotionally" tasking things.

Hmmm, what would be a good distraction? Time spent working on my quilting projects!

This was a good distraction because my Charming Girls Quilt Club project is done! (Photos to come)

Where Has The Time Gone?

Where has the time gone?

I guess that it is "Good-Bye" to June and " Good-Bye" to half of 2009". So lets give a big "Hello" to July and "Hello" to some of my 2009 completed quilts!

I hope that all of you have a great weekend! I'll be resting after a week of swimming lessons for my Little Person. Hopefully I'll have time to work on my Quilt Club Quilt this weekend. (Notice that I said "hopefully".)
Until Next Time....Happy Quilting!

Charming Chatter Quilt Club

As you know, Kelly ,at Cotton Charm Quilts, is hosting a quilt club. I have joined and here is the project that I will complete this month.

I started this quilt last year (Nov) while I was on the quilt retreat with Mrs. Nook. It is probably 90% done. All it needs is to have some applique done, as well as the borders. Pitiful isn't it!
Here is the pattern and my quilt:

Here is where you can find it:

Carol has also joined us! Stop by her blog and see what she is going to complete.
I hope that more of you will join us! You could be the monthly winner of the $25.00 gift certificate to her fabulous store that stocks ALL things MODA! Please tell her that I sent you!
Until Next Time...Happy Quilting!

She Is A Sneaky One!

That Kelly at Cotton Charm Quilts is a sneaky one! Look what she snuck into the fabric package that I ordered from her!

A jelly roll of the upcoming Fig Tree fabric, Mill House Inn.

Look at all of the yummy colors!

Luckily, this jelly roll is FAT-FREE!

I know that I will have sweet dreams tonight about my newest jelly roll!

XOXO Kelly! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
BTW, stop by her blog and join her Charming Girls' Quilt Club! I am going to join it! How about you?
