Spring Break Recap

Spring Break was kind of a bust for us

because of the weather.

(Speaking of weather, Weather.com, you are FIRED!

You promised me a week of warm, sunny weather

and all I got was 1 pitiful day at the very end of the week!

So for that.. you are FIRED!)

Since the weather was bad all week,

here is what we did:

We turned on the music and danced to Lady GaGa "Bad Romance".

Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah

(The quilt was the stage.)

Then we:

sat down and did a lot of puzzles.

In honor of National Quilting Day,

I finished sewing the binding on this.

Just a few more stitches and I will be done!

Here is a hint : (wink, wink)

It is red, white, and MODA !

Spring Is Here

Today is the first day

of my Little Person's "Spring Break."

(I really don't remember "Spring Break"

at that age.)

So this week,

we will be hanging out and having fun.

My time at the computer will

probably be little

because

we want to enjoy the beautiful weather (and the flowers) outside.

BTW- This weekend I tested out my new quilt.

I think that it is a keeper!

A New Addition

My Fairy Quilt Godmother waved her magic rotary cutter

and sprinkled some fairy dust.

With a little (really a lot) of help

from my DH,

this package arrived on my doorstep:

Inside the beautiful box was

the newest addition to my quilting family:

Let me introduce you to

"Aurora", which means dawn or new light.

I stuck with this name because I feel like I have been sewing

in the dark ages all of this time!

This will be the start of many new things for me.

Who knew that a little bit of technololgy could completely change

my quilting world!

Seriously, how did I quilt before this?

March CG&GQC Finish

This weekend we took advantage of the gorgeous weather!

It was 63 degrees outside,

so we played

and enjoyed the few signs of spring.

Speaking of Spring,

I finished these two beauties.

Let me introduce you to "Cherry Jubillee I & II".

Cherry Jubillee I is a baby shower gift for a friend.

She loves PINK, so I know that she will love this one.

I loved it so much that I had to make a larger one

 for myself...just because!

Fabrics Used: (Michael Miller) Farmer's Market by Sandi Henderson,

Mezzanine by Patty Young, Flight of Fancy by Paula Prass

My first goal of the month

I am hoping to have a busy sewing month!

How about you?

Weekend Wrap Up & Mail Call

In case you are wondering

about the Monster Truck Show,

here is what we saw:

My Little Person LOVED it!

Me....not my kind of thing AT ALL

(too LOUD & crowded)

but  don't tell the Little Person

because he was amazed by the trucks!

However, I did enjoy the time away even if

did miss the Spring Sewing Party.

Before I left,

I received a lovely present from my

dear friend Mary at Quilt Hollow !

She included this lovely, little packet of Whimsy from Fig Tree.

Once a FIG-natic, always a FIG-natic!

As I flipped through the pile,

I found a few favorites:

Red, of course!

And this lovely blue.

Thank you so much Mary! You made my day!

I am still catching up & I plan to check out what everyone

made at the Spring Sewing Party.

Until Next Time....Happy Quilting!
