Out Of The Box

I think that I was born with a crayon in my hand!

Seriously, I have always loved to draw and doodle.

I would draw and doodle everywhere and on anything (walls included).

I also love color! I love to wear color and decorate with color.

My wardrobe is filled with color, especially red.

I love to have color in every room of my house.

My box of crayons was my most prized possession when I was younger.

64 colors just wasn't enough for me.

SO

I got all giddy when my Little Person got this for Christmas:

I "OOOHHHed" and "AAAHHHed" over all of the yummy colors in the box.

After a few hours of coloring with my Little Person,

I decided that instead of making a list of resolutions this year,

I would step outside of the box.

This year I am going to let the colors inspire me, not the fabric lines.

I am going to do even MORE mixing of fabric lines.

Each color alone is beautiful,

but when they are all together, they are amazing!

I love the fact that they are in no particular order,

just beautiful colors side by side.

SO,

NO MORE MATCHY, MATCHY!

I am going to try to use colors that I normally wouldn't use.

After all, there aren't any ugly colors.

I am also going to try to celebrate colors by being

MORE SCRAPPY, SCRAPPY just like in the box of crayons!

Until Next Time... Happy Quilitng!

Last Look Back

This will be my very last look back at 2009!  (It was too rough to remember)

I get it! It's 2010!

But I completely forgot to post pictures of

some of the Christmas gifts that I made.

So,

Before Christmas, I finally cut into this:

and I made Christmas gifts for my mom, BFF, MIL, and RED.

I designed the pattern and I named them "Christmas Cheer".

I was even able to make a few coasters for my BFF.

From one layer cake, I was able to make 4 table runners and 4 coasters.

I even have a handful of 10" squares leftover for another project.

Fabric used: (All Moda ) Glace, Shangri La, and Fig Tree

So this is my last look at 2009! I promise that I am onto something NEW!

Until Next Time....Happy Quilting!

January CGQC Goals

Hello Ladies!

Gosh, I totally forgot to post my goals for this month until

Kelly reminded me to do it!

I totally blame it on the post holiday chaos

AND

the freezing cold "artic" weather that we are having.

(I am a Southern California girl at heart, so this isn't my style!)

SO,

for this month

I am going to stop staring at all of my fabric and UFOs

and make SOMETHING. ANYTHING.

I hope to make more piles like this:

or this:

and hopefully I will have something completed.

I am really trying to resist using all of my new fabric

but I must get things under control first!

Until Next Time....Happy Quilting!

Dear Santa------ Part 2

(See Part 1 Here )

Dear Santa,

Sorry this is a little late,

but

your other Helper, RED (aka Sharon),

also

did you proud this year!

Look what she put under my Christmas tree:

This next goody is so ME! I just love it and the colors!

Someone must have told her that I have a Christmas tree in the

kitchen that is covered with handmade ornaments!

These fit in nicely with the other ones.

Thanks RED for being Santa's Helper!

MAWKKKK!

Until Next Time....Happy Quilting!

Looking Back

In order see the future

you must look at the past!

So here is a brief look back at

my 2009 Completed Quilts

(at least the ones that I kept for myself):

2010 will bring much more!

My Little Person is also counting on BIGGER things.

So...Good Bye 2009!....  Hello 2010!

Until Next Time.....Happy Quilting!
