Valentine Sewing Party

OK Girls, its 08:20 and I am ready to go!

(My Little Person gets up early and I only have part of the day to myself

because my DH has to work this afternoon.)

So, let's get sewing.....

I am normally a RED kind of a girl and I am RED all year long,

so I am trying something unconvetional/different.

I am going to use pink & black.

I am not sure yet if I am going to use these:

or these:

They were part of my purchases from Lanie.

I have designed my own pattern and I am going to

let the fabrics speak to me.

So, now I am going back inside to start sewing

before the neighbors think that I am crazy for being up so early!

Update #1 @ 10:17 CST

Woo-Hoo! They (i.e. DH & Little Person) are gone for the morning!

However, DH doesn't understand why he has to leave the house

and he doesn't get exactly what it is we are doing. Oh Well!

Little Person is happy because it means playing at the park

all morning long.

So, I am dressed in my quilting attire----yoga pants! Elastic is a requirement

because of all of the eating that is involved.

IPod is BLARING my favorite dance music and

I am singing along in my BEST American Idol voice!

I finally decided to do use both of the fabrics:

I even got a few things sewn together.

Now I am going to take a quick peak at what everyone else is doing

but

not too long because my people will be back eventually!

Update #2 @ 12:12 CST

O SCRAP!...THEY are BACK!

Are you serious??????

And my studio floor looks like this:

They are BACK and I am having a design crisis!

I pieced all of the BLACK blocks together and

I don't like them in the layout!

UGHHH!!!

So I dug around and I think I will use this:

Chocolate brown....(because I have been eating chocolate) and pink???

Anyway, at least my people brought me lunch!

Enough typing...need to do more sewing

because my DH leaves for work in 3 hours,

which means that Little Person will

be bothering me (and less sewing)!

Update #4 @ 14:32 CST

Tick...Tock...The sewing clock has to stop!

It is time for my DH to leave for work and this is why I have to take a break:

hands everywhere!

feet everywhere!

and fabric disappearing to make a race track!

But here is the update:

The blocks and rows are sewn together.

I didn't plan on adding a border, but I am thinking about using this:

Oh well...I'll think about it and decide later.

I will rejoin the group after the bedtime routine (dinner, bath, and a story).

You can't mess up the routine!

Keep working and I will check on you later.

Update #5 @ 19:45 CST

I'm back! Finally put the Little Person to bed willingly! Yeah!

Before I start sewing on my borders,

I am going to check on everyone because I know that some

people are already done.

Update @ 16:31 CST

Uhhmmmm...Is anybody still out there?

Well, I am finally done with my quilt top

and boy is it pink!

Now to baste the thing.

Note to Self: " Self, next time choose something more manageable!"

Update #6  @ 22:11 CST

Basted and ready to go!

I am going to put on my quilting gloves and get this thing quilted.

I stll have 2 hours after all.

Update #7 @ 23:08 CST

Ok Ladies,

my arms are tired of quilting and my eyes hurt,

but

I had an awesome quilting along with all of you!

I actually got a lot of machine quilting done.

I plan to continue the party tomorrow morning

because I am determined to

finish this quilt by the end of the weekend!

Until Next Time...Happy Quilting!

Ooh la la - love "out of the box".

AND - love your pic at the top of your blog - GLACE - I'd know that line anywhere. I'm doing the Fat Quarter Shop's Glace BOM and I just finished Winter White in Glace.

You are making me laugh...Oh Scrap They Are Back. LOLOL. I totally understand though. At the Friday Night Sewing Party, my DH didn't get it either. He kept coming into the sewing room for help and I kept saying....can't you see I am at my party right now. I LOVE chocolate and pink..much better than black, for me. It will get better. You have made some progress.

Ya' gotta like a girl who likes red!

I am assuming that you must be saving your selvedge edges. I started doing that a couple months ago.
