Out Of The Box

I think that I was born with a crayon in my hand!

Seriously, I have always loved to draw and doodle.

I would draw and doodle everywhere and on anything (walls included).

I also love color! I love to wear color and decorate with color.

My wardrobe is filled with color, especially red.

I love to have color in every room of my house.

My box of crayons was my most prized possession when I was younger.

64 colors just wasn't enough for me.

SO

I got all giddy when my Little Person got this for Christmas:

I "OOOHHHed" and "AAAHHHed" over all of the yummy colors in the box.

After a few hours of coloring with my Little Person,

I decided that instead of making a list of resolutions this year,

I would step outside of the box.

This year I am going to let the colors inspire me, not the fabric lines.

I am going to do even MORE mixing of fabric lines.

Each color alone is beautiful,

but when they are all together, they are amazing!

I love the fact that they are in no particular order,

just beautiful colors side by side.

SO,

NO MORE MATCHY, MATCHY!

I am going to try to use colors that I normally wouldn't use.

After all, there aren't any ugly colors.

I am also going to try to celebrate colors by being

MORE SCRAPPY, SCRAPPY just like in the box of crayons!

Until Next Time... Happy Quilitng!

I think I get more excited than my little ones do when they get a new box of crayons. LOL

Read your lovely post about color and smiled because I too love the color in a brand new box of crayons. Then I went over to check the Deal a Day and attached the above link for the offer today. It sure reminded me of your color!

Enjoy your weekend!!

Too funny,
I just bought a box of Crayola pencil crayons (mini size) in a huge box too...for the same reasons. Except my challenge this year is to use all Kona Solids in different combos this year. My box has a built in sharpener...does yours? :-P

Happy colouring!

Can't wait to see what you do with your scraps. I must confess that I value my scrap quilts above the others *S*

p.s. I keep a fresh box of Crayolas on hand just so I can open it up and take a *sniff*

OMG--I love crayons, too! In fact, I loved coloring with my kiddos (even as an adult) -- and ya can't go wrong with scrappy!
