Looking Back

In order see the future

you must look at the past!

So here is a brief look back at

my 2009 Completed Quilts

(at least the ones that I kept for myself):

2010 will bring much more!

My Little Person is also counting on BIGGER things.

So...Good Bye 2009!....  Hello 2010!

Quiltified!

Here it is----my April banner after it has been "QUILTIFIED" (aka-washed and dried so that it looks all puffy).

This is a Button Up pattern by Joined At The Hip. I bought the entire collection 2 years ago and so I far I have only done February, March, and now April. Someday, I will get around to making the rest of them.
I chose bright and cheery fabrics that I had thrown into my scrap bin. All of the colors give me a "happy" feeling when I see them.

My Little Person likes it too! Who cares about a few "foot prints" on your raindrops anyway?

These are my 2009 completed quilts.

Until Next Time.....Happy Quilting!

Done With One

Yeah! I have completed my first project for February! It is my copy of the Secret Valentine Tea Party Swap. Sorry, but I can't show you the completed version because the original hasn't been received by its new owner. (Soon Mrs. Quilt Hollow, I promise)

So I will just show you snippets of the back:

See, I even have the label on it!

Here is my updated 2009 completed project pile. Of course it is just a snippet!

Stay tuned because more is on the way!
BTW-To all of my Australian "blog buddies", I hope that all of you are safe! I'll be thinking of you! I know what you are going through because I survived the Wildfire of Southern California. Stay safe and heed all warnings!
Until Next Time....Happy Quilting!

Branching Out

Yeah! I have finished my first project for the "One-A-Month Challenge!" I have been carrying this project around for at least 4 years! I really don't know why it has taken me so long to complete it because it is not difficult. So here it is:

I know that it is strange that my first project of the New Year is a Christmas quilt but I really wanted to get it completed! At least it will be ready for next Christmas.

I usually do one of two quilting motifs: overlapping swirls or free form flowers. As you know, I don't stipple because I am not that good at it. Don't ask me why but I just can't the motion correct and it winds up looking like crazy lines.

So this time Jana (my middle aged Janome sewing machine) and I decided to do something different: free-form stars.

It feels really good to have completed this quilt and I had fun "branching out" with my quilting motif! Now I have this completed pile of 2009 quilts!

On to the next project! Until Next Time.....Happy Quilting!
